Melton Moves Michigan Forward One Plan at a Time

State Representative Tim Melton (Pontiac/Auburn Hills) has a long record of fighting for Michigan's workers by teaming up with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. In his first term Melton has worked hard to create a senior citizen prescription drug plan and, as Chair of the Education committee, he has worked to increase funding so our children receive a top-notch education. Melton also introduced a plan to hold auto insurance companies accountable to our residents.

When he's not hard at work in the Capitol, Melton spends time in the district meeting as many residents as possible. He holds coffee hours and office hours throughout his district each month, as well as town hall meetings on various topics. Melton also attends many community meetings.

"There are many challenges facing Michigan residents and we've all had tough decisions to make," Melton said. "Moving Michigan forward is my highest priority and I take my role as State Representative very seriously. I will continue to fight to boost our economy and make Michigan a great place to live, work and raise a family."

Before coming to the Michigan House, Melton worked as a Welfare-to-Work counselor and Economic Development Coordinator for the Oakland Partnership in Pontiac. He also served on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners from 1999 until he was elected State Representative in 2006. Melton and his wife, Patty, are the proud parents of 3-month-old Myles Jackson Melton.

Melton represents House District 29, which covers part of Oakland County including the cities of Auburn Hills and Pontiac.
