LANSING – State Representative Fred Durhal III (D-Detroit) introduced House Bill 4187 yesterday, which would raise vandalizing road signs, including graffiti, to a misdemeanor-level offense. Durhal sees this as common-sense legislation to help make driving safer.

“I hear, time and again, the concerns raised by graffiti in our community,” Durhal said. “When any sign that’s supposed to be directional is tainted, that makes driving harder and more dangerous.”

“This budget proposal offers items both good and bad. My major concern is that working families are being asked to pay for the state’s deficit through cuts to DHS and DCH, a deficit caused by overly generous tax credits to profitable corporations. LANSING – State Representative Fred Durhal III (D-Detroit) announced today that he will serve on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. The main purpose of this committee is to draft and amend the state’s budget.
