Protect Michigan Workers
State Representatives Lisa Brown (West Bloomfield), Tim Melton (Pontiac) and Woodrow Stanley (Flint) call on the Senate to take action on a plan to extend unemployment benefits to Michigan's struggling workers at press conferences on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, in Pontiac and Flint. The legislators warned that nearly 100,000 Michigan workers, including nearly 11,000 in Oakland County and more than 5,000 in Genesee County, will have their benefits cut if the Senate does not pass the plan that the House approved in May.
