House Dems Unveil Plan to Make Government More Accountable
State Representative Tim Bledsoe (D-Grosse Pointe) (forefront) is joined by Majority Floor Leader Kathy Angerer (D-Dundee), State Representative Mark Meadows (D-East Lansing), State Representative Dian Slavens (D-Canton) and State Representative Jim Slezak (D-Burton) at a press conference in Lansing on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009. Bledsoe and his colleagues recently introduced a package of government reforms that will close the revolving door between lobbying groups and lawmakers, force elected officials to disclose their personal finances and dock lawmakers' pay for each day of session they miss.
