Visitor Security Procedures

When you visit us, every effort will be made to minimize delays that are inherent in providing for your safety and security. As you enter the building, you will be asked to present identification appropriate for the type of visit you are making.

Anonymous Access

If you are visiting to observe or participate in a Committee meeting, anonymous access is available and no identification is required. A day pass will be issued at no cost and your access will be limited to the main lobby area and the Committee rooms.

Frequent Visitor Access

If you will be visiting the House of Representatives frequently and require access to the member offices, you should consider applying for a Frequent Visitor Pass. The pass is a photo ID card that you wear that enables you to move quickly through the security screening process and grants access to all member offices and common areas. The Frequent Visitor Pass is valid for the duration of the current two-year legislative session. You can obtain a Frequent Visitor Pass by presenting a completed copy of this PDF Icon online form, displaying a valid driver’s license and paying a $10 processing fee at the Visitor Assistance Desk in the main lobby. Please come prepared to have your picture taken.

Member Office Day Pass

Visitors who are here for the day and wish to visit one or more Representatives will need a Member Office Day Pass. There is no fee, but you will need to provide your name and birth date at the time of your arrival, which must be verified by a valid driver’s license or other form of legitimate identification before a pass will be issued. When you are ready to leave the House Office Building, please be sure to drop your badge off at the Visitor Assistance Desk. For groups with large numbers of children, only the adults sponsoring the group will need passes for the day.
